Lars is the Director of Client Services with Purpose Capital in Toronto, where he leads engagements with asset owners and institutions looking to mobilize their resources for greater impact. His work includes developing impact investment theses with clients to guide overall impact investment strategies, conducting market and product research, and supporting the creation of tools and procedures to support impact investing programs.
Lars is often engaged as an advisor on social finance topics across sectors, and has worked with organizations such as the Province of Ontario, the House of Commons, and the Institute for Public Administration of Canada as an expert on Pay-for-Success. His writing has appeared in the Stanford Social Innovation Review among other publications. In addition to past experiences focused on international climate policy, Lars co-founded the Halifax Tool Library. He currently sits on the National Policy Council for the Canadian Community Economic Development Network and the Steering Committee for CatalystsX, a youth social entrepreneur support network.
Lars joined Purpose Capital as the former VP of Finance for Good, one of Canada’s leading voices on Social Impact Bonds and Outcomes Financing. Lars holds a Graduate Diploma in Social Innovation from the University of Waterloo and a BA from Dalhousie University, where he was awarded the University Medal in Environment, Sustainability, and Society.
