Mathew Burpee is a Venture Partner with Purpose Capital based in Calgary, Alberta and also currently Vice President at Lynx Equity Limited, a Canadian-based private equity firm.
Mathew brings significant experience in financial and statistical analysis, as well as a track record of managing and advising on complex financial transactions. Prior to joining Purpose Capital, his work at Finance for Good primarily involved the oversight of social finance engagements for government and major not-for-profits, focusing his efforts on evaluating the social and economic impact of various social programs. Additionally, his experience includes a background in private equity where he has sourced, negotiated, and structured several successful corporate acquisitions, generating strong returns for investors. Previous to that, he was a Manager with Ernst & Young where he managed large cross-sectional teams completing financial statement audits and advisory engagements with a particular focus on the valuation of complex assets. Mathew is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) and was named Gold Medalist on the 2010 CA final exam. In 2016 he was named Canada’s top Millennial in Finance by Notable.ca.
